Two simple check boxes…..would spare many people a lot of hardship. (that’s right, hardship.)

It is always nice to see subscriber stats going up. Today, I realized that the email I send to a first time commenter on my site displays my old RSS feed link asking them to subscribe.

So, I just checked out my google webmaster tools account, and it looks like I have a large number of users subscribed to my old feed, brianyerkes.com/feed.

Please take a few moments and update my feed in your feedreader to http://feeds.feedburner.com/brianyerkes

The Beta release of Firefox 3 is out and it comes with improved CSS support

• The display property’s inline-block and inline-table values are now implemented.
• The font-size-adjust property now works on all platforms; previously it was only supported on Windows.
• rgba() and hsla() support for color (bug 147017)
• :default pseudo-class support (bug 302186)
• -moz-max-content, -moz-min-content, -moz-fit-content, and -moz-available values have been added to width, min-width, and max-width (bug 311415 and bug 402706)
• HTML soft hyphens (­) are now supported.
• Pre-formatted tabs work much better in proportional fonts, following the CSS 2.1 spec.
• The ime-mode property is supported.
• The CSS text-rendering property for HTML is now supported (bug 387969).
• -moz-border-*-start and -moz-border-*-end CSS properties are implemented (bug 74880).
• -moz-initial is now implemented for almost all CSS properties (except quotes and -moz-border-*-colors) bug 80887.
• window.getComputedStyle() now supports all supported CSS properties (bug 316981).
• content‘s none value is now supported (bug 378535).
• cursor‘s none value is now supported (bug 346690).
• Background images now properly clip to a -moz-border-radius (bug 24998).
• white-space‘s pre-wrap value is now supported (bug 261081).
• Selectors like :first-child, nly-child, :last-child (bug 73586), :empty (bug 98997), or the + combinator (bug 229915) are now updated dynamically (bug 401291).
• Negative z-index values are supported correctly.

Rssday.org are trying to build awareness of RSS technology and I am adding my support to the project. Many of us in the web design, graphic design and internet marketing business use RSS technology every day. It is important that our industries try to promote it and get it in front of all general internet users.

Q: What is RSS, and what are RSS feeds I keep hearing about?A. Wikipedia explains RSS feeds as:“RSS is a family of Web feed formats used to publish frequently updated content such as blog entries, news headlines, and podcasts.[2] An RSS document (which is called a “feed” or “web feed”[3] or “channel”) contains either a summary of content from an associated web site or the full text. RSS makes it possible for people to keep up with web sites in an automated manner that can be piped into special programs or filtered displays.[3]

RSS content can be read using software called an “RSS reader”, “feed reader” or an “aggregator”, which can be web-based or desktop-based. The user subscribes to a feed by entering the feed’s link into the reader or by clicking an RSS icon in a browser that initiates the subscription process. The RSS reader checks the user’s subscribed feeds regularly for new content, downloading any updates that it finds and provides a user interface to monitor and read the feeds.

The initials “RSS” are used to refer to the following formats:

Welcome! So this is my first post (well, no it’s not, this is my first post after many tests to figure out the exact workings of this wordpress platform)

My previous blog experience has been with blogger only, so up until now I was a wordpress virigin. So far, after a lot of playing around with the tools and plugins wordpress has to offer, it is definately a more powerful platform than blogger.

So, welcome to my personal blog. I am the owner to Brian Joseph Studios, check our company blog here. I decided I needed to create an online outlet for my own personal thoughts, ideas, tutorials, news, and general ramblings everything to do with what I know best…..and that is Web, Logo, Graphic, Design……..Life as I see and design it.
